I am having an issue with the middle(separation between cakes with the filling) showing under my fondant when I cover the cake. Sometimes it doesn't show but more than not it does. I have tried different things and haven't figured out what I do differently when it doesn't show. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it!! I have been using MMF, but have also used Satin Ice fondant and have had the same problem.
BTW, it isn't a bulge just a noticeable difference. Thank you in advance for any tips and suggestions!!
I find a crumbcoat helps cover the seperation..I like to give a generous coat and set back in the fridge over night and scrape the exceess off if it buldges.
What kind of dam are you using? Is it stiff enough? What kind of filling? Could it be too thick? It's better to torte more than once and use thinner layer of filling per separation.
