Will Buttercream Stick If I Ice A Cake With Ganache On It?

I like the taste of a bittersweet ganache on the cake I am making. But never like how the finish isnt as smooth. If I make a chocolate buttercream, can I put a thin layer over the ganache? Will it stick or slide right off? I will let it harden first of course. Please help....
