Question how do you keep the fondant from stretching out when you put it on the cake? I am doing a cake and it has fondant ribbon around the bottom of the tiers, i know when i have used fondant in the past it stretches out when i pick it up to put it on the cake. Any help would be appriciated. thanks

add a little tylose to the fondant.. knead in really good.. or add a little g/p to the fondant and knead in good. gives the fondant a little more strength and makes it more pliable.. hth

i use a 50/50 mix and didnt seem to have a problem with the ribbon stretching. i just a did cake last week (its the red and white bling cake) and the ribbon went on fine.

In addition, you can coil the ribbon up, place it against your cake and unroll it and attach.

I can't take credit for that one! Got that tip right here at CC. Glad I could help as so many others have helped me. icon_smile.gif
