I forgot to set my cakes out to thaw and now it's time to start decorating! Has anyone ever decorated a frozen cake w/ BC?

I've done it before, but it made it hard to smooth. Hte icing actually went on really well with no crumbs (because they were too frozen) but by the time i got to smoothing it the cake was thawing and creating a lot of moisture on the top and sides of the cake. We were just giving it to friends, so i wasn't overly concerned, but it definetly didn't turn out the way it normally would have.
