I am working on my first firetruck cake and what a task it has become. The person who asked for it wanted buttercream for his son's 4th birthday. It's nowhere near as smooth as fondant, so the cake just doesn't look up to my normal potential. It's quite a daunting task. I don't think I will ever do one of these again. And then to top it off, the guy emails me this morning and says that they may be rescheduling their son's birthday because of the bad storms we're having here. I'm not making another cake.

I did a buttercream fire truck recently. Keeping the cut-out not detailed made it not so nerve wrecking. Not sure of the design your customer picked, but I have a very easy design in my gallery if you are interested.
