I've been asked to create a birthday cake for my friend's grandparents who are both turning 80. My friend told me that one thing both grandparents had in common was that they loved to play dominoes.

Aside from just making a sheet cake to look like one large domino, are there any other ideas out there?

you could make several dominoes coming off one another in different directions, that would be cool I think

That is so funny Elise87... I hadn't seen your suggestion until this morning and I actually did end up making a wooden box with dominoes in it icon_smile.gif

You can go to my CC site to see a pic of the final product. It came out okay. The customer was happy with it, so I suppose that's what matters most.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions... I appreciate all of the help!

I made a domino themed cake and my dominos were molded chocolates. Wife of the recipient purchased domino molds and I spelled his name with the candy tiles, than placed extras along the sides. The beauty of this is they looked like real domino tiles, yet were edible. They loved it.

Good luck
Sandy
