Hi,

I made sugar cookies yesterday and thought I properly chilled the dough. When they baked the shape of the cut-outs became a bit distorted an puffy on the sides.

Is there a tried and true way to get clean & firm edges so the cookies look best?

Thanks for your help!

It won't help now, but I have read that some people use the cutter (metal one, not plastic) on the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven to neaten up the shape. It has to be done quickly, though, while the cookies are still soft from the oven.

What recipe did you use?? I use NFSC (from this site) which hold it shape after they are cut. Very good recipe that I have used to make my cookies icon_smile.gif

NFSC fails me as well. And as said above, I do re-cut the shape after baking. It needs to be done while the cookies are still hot.
