Hi, I don't know how to search for topics here, but does any one know where I can find about making a for Phantom Of the Opera Mask? Basically, how can I make it look smoother?

I used gumpaste and it's not looking smooth. I keep getting blotches on it, especially when I dust it with pearl dust. I'm forming the gumpaste on top of the mask I purchased and it's drying around the edges before I can finish forming it!

Have you tried forming from the inside of the mask? Your gumpaste would be smoother on the top that way.... no finger imprints or anything.

If you mix half gumpaste and half fondant, it will give you a longer working time before it starts drying out.

Hi, yes I did it from the inside, but the outer edges were drying. I'll try the half in half and I'll let you know what I did.

Thank you all for your suggestions!
