I would like to make some cookies as a surprise for a Jewish friend's holiday. Do you think snowflakes would be good, decorated in blue and white? Or, do you have a better idea?

I think anything"winter" themes (As opposed to Christmas) would be great. Blue and white will be perfect.

If you want to go the holiday route, Chanukah themes might include dreidels, 6-pointed stars, menorahs...

Cookie cutters of those shapes suggested above are available-- unfortunately I got mine so long ago that I can't remember where. I think I have seen them at Michael's or JoAnn's. The dreidels and the Stars of David look the best. The menorahs don't unless you are decorating them the way Peeverly did-- beautiful job.
