Yay I had my first cake disaster...i'm so glad it was on a cake that was just for a friend, they actually said I didn't need to decorate it, they just wanted cake to eat...lol.
Anyways I made a 9in covered in buttercream. I completely forgot to let the cakes settle and boy did it show...after about 30 minutes I looked over and buttercream was bulging out everywhere....lol. Luckily there wasn't any fondant involved and the cake was pretty simple to fix but I don't think this step will slip my mind anymore...I defiantly learned my lesson.

Couldn't ask for a better "disaster"! Glad it worked out for you! And you're right, you'll probably never miss that step again!
