Is there a recipe for a cream cheese icing that can be used for decorating (like buttercream)?

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

There is a really good recipe from designmeacake.com.

I like to use the crusting cream cheese buttercream on there.

Here's another really good crusting cream cheese icing from here on CC. It works just like Buttercream.

I am also looking for the same thing. Ive tried just about every recipe out there. Here's the problem i find. Once i add too much powdered sugar to the cream cheese and butter or shortening, the icing no longer taste like Cream cheese anymore. It just taste like regular butter cream icing.

I used Edna's recipe on designmeacake.com and I loved it. The cream cheese isn't really strong, but when you pair it with like carrot cake, its heavenly!

try this:

1 pkg white melting chocolates
2 pkg cream cheese
2 sticks butter
2 tbsp lemon juice
Add powdered sugar to your liking

It sets up really good but it has to refrigerate some before decorating or it does get soft. Put in the fridge after done decorating and it sets up beautifully!
