I have a customer that wants a rum cake in the shape of a Polo shirt. I want to know will the fondant ruin the taste of the cake since I will using a glaze instead of buttercream. Please help! Thanks in advance!

I've never used Fondant, but I hear/read good reviews on the Michele Foster's Fondant (MFF)...recipe on this site....and maybe you can add Rum flavoring to it, so that it matches the cake flavor. I don't know for sure, but you might need a really thin coat of buttercream to help adhere the fondant or maybe a white chocolate rum ganache to go under your fondant.

Have you think about maybe using pipping gel as the adherent.
