I need to know if I have to make royal icing for decorations on a cake covered in fondant or if I can use leftover buttercream for the decorations.
I don't want the piping to slide off or bleed into the fondant or just look plain bad.
Anll comment VERY MUCH appreciated! THANK YOU!!

Hi,
You sure can use royal or buttercream. Either works just fine.

Thank you for your help! I've only used royal icing on fondant before, but now I will be trying buttercream too. Thanks again!

Hi!

I, too, have used both, but find that I like it better when I put my buttercream on at the very last minute.
