A tiny bit of red will make the orange darker.

what kind of orange are you looking for?
Yeserday I was making royal icing carrots and i had no red so I added a tiny bit of burgundy and it was perfect!

If you are looking for a more pumpkin color orange, add copper to your orange color. The small pumpkins on my cake in my photos is orange and copper.

I guess it depends on what shade you need....I have been making turkey shaped cookies for days ( boy am I sick of fall colors, lol). With almost all the the colors that I have made this week ( yellow, green, tan, etc...) I have added a little bit of brown...makes the colors a little bit warmer in my opinion. Red will work if you want a brighter, deeper orange. HTH

I added a little red and a little brown for the pumpkin in my photos.
