Help! Easy Pumpkin Roll Question...

I know this is not necessarily a "cake decorating" question, but it is something I am sure you cake experts can help me with. icon_smile.gif

I want to make a pumpkin roll today and have a spice cake mix. I have found conflicting recipes about how to go about this the best way. Shouldn't I just be able to prepare the spice cake mix as instructed on the box, add a can of pumpkin, and voila?

Here is a recipe I found... but it does not add water or oil (as instructed on the back of the cake mix), so I was curious if it would work:
3 eggs or 3/4 c. egg substitute
3/4 c. canned pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie mix stuff)
1 c. boxed spice cake mix (preferably a kind with pudding or that says super moist

This is the type of pumpkin rolls that I make. Unfortunately, this isn't the recipe I use. I don't know where mine is at the moment - but it's similar.

that's the recipe I use (minus the walnuts). It works really well and its super easy. I made two last night. I actually skip the whipped cream too. I like the silkiness of just the cream cheese and sugar
