I have been asked to do a cake for a celebration for our Priests 25th anniversary of his ordinaiton. I really want to make this cake about him, and not just our own parrish. I need to feed roughly 220-250 people. Help! any ideas out there??

What do you know about "him" that could be used to personalize the cake?

Here are minister/priest cakes from the CC galleries:

Well I do know the names of the other parishs' he has wroked at, I know that he does have a personal quote, I know that he has a special bond to Our Lady, I know that he likes to go fishing, and I know this has to be one really big cake! LOL i was thinking of doing the cakebord in extra thick foan core, wrapping it in black fondant, and then adding a short strip of white to show the priests collar, then build the cake up from that. What do you think??

Thanks fo your help!

Well, that would certainly fit the bill for a priest's cake. icon_smile.gif

Are you thinking of making this a sheet cake? A full, 2 layer (24x16x4 - 4 cakes each 12x16x2 - stack the 4 into 2 and shove them together) will give you just under 200 servings. You can then add another round (10" or 12"x4) on top of that to get up to about 235-250 servings.
