I made frosting over the weekend and frosting my cake tonight. I forgot to take the frosting out of the fridge with enough time to come to room temperature. Any ideas for how to help it get to room temperature a little faster?? (it's buttercream, by the way)

Aim a butane torch or a hair dryer on the hottest setting at the bowl while you stir it with a spatula (assuming this is in a metal stand mixer bowl LOL).

It won't take long...just be patient and don't melt it.

you could scoop it by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet and let it sit for a few minutes...it shouldn't take long. Stir it up w/a spatula as it starts to warm up.
