i am quite new to cake decorating and tried making a handbag shaped cake.
i covered my sponge in buttercream and then put fondant icing over it. the icing looked all lumpy - what did i do wrong!? should i have left the buttercream for a while to dry before putting the layer of icing on top?
How think was your buttercream? I always put a really thin layer of buttercream and then put the fondant on.
