I have a 'from scratch' recipe for cupcakes that calls for strawberry liqueur to flavor the cupcake. I didn't want to spend $25 on a bottle of liqueur for just 2 Tbs of it, so could I use strawberry jam for flavoring, or should I just go buy a strawberry cake mix and be done with it???

I would use the extract, too, about 1 teaspoon per batter.
