Unsifted Flour

When a recipe calls for unsifted flour does that mean all purpose only or can I use cake flour? From viewing past forums members have posted that cake flour allows cake layers to rise better.

If a recipe just calls for "flour" then AP (all purpose) is the default to use. icon_smile.gif
