I get my Sweetex locally at Cash & Carry. Call around and see if you can get it locally because a lot of internet sites will not ship it during the summer because it's too hot. You might also try Sysco Foods or other restaurant food wholesalers. You can usually buy from them in small amounts (which in this case is 50 pounds) if you pick it up from them.

I store my Sweetex at room temperature in a cool place (my pantry). You store it the same way you do any other shortening. If it's too hot in your house to store it in the pantry, it'd probably last nearly forever in the fridge.

I did get a small batch from an internet site that was rancid, I assume because it got too hot during shipment.

Friendly P.S. - Turn off your CAP key. It's considered "shouting" in e-mails and other posts. : )
