My DH told me the other day he found a hilarious blog about a man whose wife is obsessed with the Twilight series. The DH explains the house is going to pot, no cooking is going on, and his wife hogs the computer all day to look up Twilight-related blogs and websites. My hubby laughed and said that's how he feels about cake. He says he is officially a Cake Widower. I don't hog the computer...much! icon_smile.gif

I usually do my cake stuff at night while DH is at work. Partly because I don't really want suggestions (and if I do, I can send him a picture). We have a deal though, he can talk about guns as much as he wants and I can talk about cake as much as I want.

My DH says every time I do a cake, he loses his wife for a week. But he is very supportive of my "habit" and even helps me out with boxes and technical computer support.

What about Cake Insomnia? When I have a cake to do I think about it day and night! LOL! Some nights I actually take a sleep aid to shut down my brain.

Definitely!!! If I have a lot of cakes on the go, I'll rent him a few movies to watch so he doesn't feel so ignored - ones that I'm not interested in, of course!!!!

I try to cake while he's playing video games ... that way I know we're both busy with hobbies!

Yep. I can TOTALLY relate to that!! Every single night I fall asleep with cake on the brain! But I have to admit, it's in that quiet time that I get my best cake ideas. thumbs_up.gif Oh, and in the shower too!

My husband doen't seem to mind much. Gives him free X-box time! And if I'm not making cakes, I'm on here looking for ideas and I even make cakes in my dreams.

Yup, my hubby just shakes his head and tells others " You can't stop a woman when she's out of control." I am definitely out of control when it comes to caking. I am always bying something for caking. I spend a couple hours a night on this websight while he warches TV. I think about my future cakes all the time planning and replanning them trying to anticipate and solve problems. When it comes to actually making the cake he pretty much stays out of the kitchen and knows meals for that day will be the pits.
My DH has been very supportive though and makes things for me when I see ideas on this sight or come up with a brainstorm of my own.

Forunately, i can see DH on the couch from the Kitchen - so if i am *caking* at night time at least i can still converse with him.

He toddles down to the kitchen to make cuppas - so we have a mini hug and icon_wink.gif whilst the kettle is boiling. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

If the house is toooooo quiet he comes looking for me - i am usually in my *caking room* sorting things out - tidying things up - or drooling over some new *cake toy* that has just arrived that day in the mail.

Sometimes he has even been known to sit on the floor and say -

"What would you use THAT for darl?"
"Fancy someone inventing THAT"
"Wow, who would of thought that there were so many shades of Blue to buy"
What is THATTTTT ?"

He icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif when i show him a new impression mat or something - and says - and you had to import that from the UK or USA ??? .
Why aren't these things available here for you ?

"Cause it is cheaper for it to be imported" - i say. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

One stressful week of caking my DH informed me he was going through real food withdrawal. So, I had to actually heat something up on the stove. He went a whole 3 days without hot food. Can anyone explain to me why our DH's cannot operate a stove. I'm only joking of course, actually my husband is a very good cook. He was just feeling neglected. LOL.

Yeah, he was until I realized what a mistake I was making! No more. icon_smile.gif At least cake is related to a hobby or business. Being that obsessed with Twilight is just sad.

My husband calls CC my cake porn. Luckily, we each have our own laptop so I don't have to worry about hogging it, but if I'm on the computer for a long time, he'll say, "Are you looking at cake porn again?" Makes me laugh every time.

Yep, hubby looks at the screen to see what color it is. icon_lol.gif

My cake business is part-time and mainly at night until it picks up. Hubby sits down there with, does dishes, gets dinner and is awesome. However, I"ve been making tons of sugar roses in my craft room for a bridal fair in January. (They are just for show so I'm making them at home.) That room is downstairs so I didn't even see him most of Saturday. thumbsdown.gif But, he got to watch football with me bugging him. thumbs_up.gif
