What's the best way to put vertical stripes (will be buttercream) on the bottom tier of a two tiered cake. They need to be about 2" wide in primary colors. It looks like most of the cakes in the gallerie are fondant, but is there a good way to do this in buttercream? Thanks, Marilyn

I would use a tip #47 (or similar) and do a few lines next to each other. Then use the Melvira method very carefully to blend.

You could also use the Icer tip, a 1D or a 2B.
