I use the recipe from the Cake Man Raven. Its really moist and my friends and family love it. Here's a link to the recipe. http://www.cakemanraven.com/cmr_recipe.pdf

Hope this helps!

Sarahs red velvet cake tweaked here on CC is excellent. Had nothing but excellent results.

I use cake man raven's also - except you can use about 1/2 of the red coloring and it's still bright red (I use Wilton's no taste red), and I think it's a bit oily, so I reduce the oil by 1/2 cup, and increase the buttermilk by 1/2 cup. It quickly turned into everyone I Know's favorite cake. It's fantastic.

A very well-known bakery in Baltimore that I used to be employed by makes there's by using German Chocolate cake MIX, adding red food color, using butter instead of oil and milk instead of water.

This is my favorite. I always get great reviews and it's very easy to make.
