newbie.. how are ribbon and rolled roses done??? I'm not talented enough to do roses with a petal cutter... yet.. thanks

I cut a wide thin ribbon of fondant and fold in half, then just roll up, pinch the bottom of one side. Or you can pinch (but not hard, kind of like a pinch, pull) and & fold to get the kind that look like the ribbon roses you see on favors. I hope that makes sense,
