Does anyone ship cakes? I have some friends wanting me to ship cakes for the holidays, but I'm clueless!!!

No. I know there are some companies out there that do - mostly heavier pound cakes, fruit or cheese cakes. I can't imagine an iced/decorated cake surviving even with special packaging. I can't see the UPS/FedEx/Mailman handling it gingerly, but maybe I'm wrong (in my mind I seem them tossing boxes around without a thought as to their fragility).
