I was just asked to do a copper penny cake. I have the image, but cannot figure out how I will get the detail of the penny onto the cake. Anyone have any ideas? or done anything like this? Its for next week, so I have some time, but not much. thanks for your help
Hi Hugs - I did a search in the Gallery and it looks like some other CCers have tried the coin cakes - most seem to be done with fondant cut outs on top to resemble the raised design of the coin - check them out and decide what works for you!
Here are some of the ones I liked best for inspiration:

I love the copper penny one, I think I will go by that, since that is what I am doing.
Now 1 question, how do you acheive that coppery color? I have not seen any gel colors that you could use for that? I will call the cake shop as well. thanks
I've never used a spray before, but I don't see why not. Isn't it similiar to spraying with an airbrush?
yes its like the same thing, just it comes from a can, not an airbrush machine. I don't have one yet. I want to get one, but I don't get enough cake orders to spend that kind of money at the moment. I have used wilton's sprays before, but not this luster one. Will post pics once done. thanks for your help
