Okay title about says it....we are going out of town in a couple of weekends, but my sister's sister in law wanted one for her daughter's birthday. The party is on Sunday, we will be leaving Saturday morning, so I could finish it Friday night. Would it be okay to do this?? Please let me know, thanks so much in advance! icon_smile.gif

Well, if the cake has any perishable frostings or fillings, it will need to stay under refrigeration. Otherwise, keep it covered and it should be fine.

I usually bake and ice 2 days before a cake is due, decorate the day before and then it is eaten on day 3... So I see no issue with baking/icing/decorating all on Friday for a Sunday cake. Or if you need to, bake earlier in the week and freeze until Friday.

Sure, I'd bake Thursday, ice and decorate on Friday, wrap it with plastic wrap and stick it into the fridge until Sunday. It'll be fine.
