How Many Petals Does A Poppy Have ?

I am confused in one of my books it says, two small petals around centre and two large on the outside , it just looks wrong i noticed on some of the cakes posted here there are four in the centre but i cant see how many on the outside........

Real poppys have four to six petals. When the buds are opening, it often appears that there are two in the inside and two positioned perpendicular to those forming the outside.
