I'm not even sure this is possible, but I thought I'd ask. My mother in law can't eat processed foods. (examples: white flour, white sugar...) Is there any way to make a 100% whole wheat (or 100% whole grain) cake with honey or brown sugar and butter plus other regular ingredients?
Thanks!

I believe King Arthur Flour has some recipes for whole wheat cakes. I don't know if that would be the same thing... it's a suggestion.
Thank you! Is King Arthur Flour on CC, or should I google it?
Thanks again!

I found the wesite! Thank you!
I didn't see any recipes for actual cakes on the king's site, but I've found three other recipes I'm going to try. I'll let you know how they turn out. But I'd still love anyone's recipe that they've tested and love! =)
I'd consider going in a fruit bread type direction to get a nice yummy product. Whole grain cake just ain't gonna do like a regular cake. Myabe some Happy Brithday pie--cheese cake--stuff like that maybe.
Or like a stollen--mmm a fruity sweet bread, coffee cake. Maybe stuff like that.
I love coffee cake! Mmmmm.... Thank you for the tip! The three recipes I found are: a whole wheat chocolate sheet cake (which I'll try to layer), a whole wheat applesauce cake, and a whole wheat apple raisin cake. I'm going to ask my mother in law which one she wants me to try first. Then maybe she can also have cake at all her kids' and grandkids' birthday parties. =)
That cookbook is now on my list of stuff to buy! =) I didn't notice it. Thanks auntmamie!
I recently purchase some organic whole grain pastry flour at Whole Foods. I haven't made anything with it yet. Will post results when I do.
