Hi, I also have a diabetic request. I have never made cakes for diabetics and I am wondering if there is a sugar substitute that I can use that lets me use a regular cake recipe. Or do I need to find a completely new recipe to make a "diabetic cake." Does anyone know?

There is no such thing as a cake that diabetics could eat freely. It's not just sugar that affects blood sugar. It's the carbs in general....so, it's also the flour. Diabetics aren't supposed to eat anything "white" except for cauliflower.

My mom is diabetic. She would rather have a small piece of a "real" cake and adjust the rest of her eating for the day, than to eat a supposedly diabetic cake.
