2 Peas In A Pod - Looking For Critiques

I'm making a cake for a baby shower this weekend. Mom to be is having twin boys and is going with a 2 peas in a pod theme. This is the first time I've made a figure this complex, and I would love to be critiqued. I see an OK paint job and fondant being too think on the bottom part of the pod.
On a lighter note -
I just tried to open up a new container of luster dust in a beautiful shade of coral to highlight the cheeks of the babies. I was being very careful like always when opening up those tight fitting lids, but my hand slipped at the last minute and now one side of my kitchen is covered in PINK luster dust. Did I mention she's having boys?!? Fortunately I can't seem to work in an organized manor, and my pea pod was across the room. Once I calmed down and got their little cheeks on, I thought they turned out alright.
TIA for your comments.
I think they are adorable and perfectly matched.
I laughted at your story cause I hate those lids and that is my big fear
OH MY GOSH! THOSE ARE SO ADORABLE! AND YES, I'M TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS!
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Oh my goodness, they are so cute! I seriously love how you did them. The customer is going to be so happy!
Great work - You nailed the figure.
I hate those dust pots. I do not know if you have a Wal-Mart near you, but in the beads section they sell small pots with screw on lids. I think I paid 1.99 or 2.99 for a dozen. I bought a couple of packs of them and transferred all my dusts to them, instead. So much easier to open.

Super, super cute!!!!!! Those luster dust lids suck!!!! I can't get them off for the life of me, but ironically, my 3 yr. old has no problem at all!!!!! Please post pics of the finished product! Can't wait to see it completed!

EXCELLENT TIP!!!! I am going to look for those this weekend!
Those are so darn cute, I didn't see any imperfections. Can anyone please post a tutorial on how to make these cuties.
Perfect!!! Let us know when you post the whole cake! I bet is going to be gorgeous!!!
I just posted the pictures of the finished cake. Sorry it took so long... life tried to get in the way of my caking again!
It's in my photo gallery - lots of angles.
GL79 - I don't have a tutorial per se, but they were pretty easy to make. I used all MMF with gumtex added to it.
I made balls of fondant for the peas and baby heads first and set them aside while I rolled out some green fondant for the pod. I made the pacifiers by making 2 little balls of fondant - one a little smaller than the other. I squished them a little flat and glued them together with clear vanilla.
I set the peas and heads on the piece of rolled out fondant and then cut the pod - kind of an oval around them with the ends coming to points. I just eyed it, didn't measure, but cut far enough away from the peas so that the pod would cover them up sufficiently. Once cut, I used clear vanilla to glue the pod to the peas. I overlaped the back of the pod over the front at the two ends and the gently curved the whole thing.
Then I painted the eyes and hair with get color and glued on the pacifiers. Finally I added the luster dust cheeks - a little goes a long way.
I hope that helps some - I know it would be a lot easier with step by step pictures, but I didn't think to take any while I was in the process.
Thanks again for all your kind words!
