Hi All!

My nephew is wanting a Phineas and Ferb cake for his 3rd birthday. Last year I made him Wow Wow Wubbzy cake and he loved it so I really have to excel on this one.

I want to make fondant figures of the main characters on top of the cake, I work 40+ hours so I will need to make it in advanced. His birthday party is Sun the 15th. How far ahead can I make the figures with all the coloring on them? I can make and icing/fondant the cake Sat night when I get off work.

Thanks so much!

Make them as far ahead as you want. The more time they have to dry the better. Typically, they aren't eaten to "freshness" need not be your concern. Do them early so you don't have to stress about them later and have time to get them created to your satisfaction. I make mine out of 50/50 gumpaste/fondant and let them sit at room temp to dry until needed.

You can make them as far in advance as you want! Just keep them in the dark.
