I did not place any bets but in the office sweep my horse Mourilyan came in third. icon_lol.gif I think my prize is a grand total of $5.00! icon_biggrin.gif I was so busy baking that I forgot about the race and switched the telly on at about 3.15pm to listen to the results.

I did and I won! It was a charity event though so I didn't get any cash. I did get a nice bottle of champers!

Let me provide a translation icon_lol.gif

Bluehue is referring to the Melbourne Cup which is a horse race that is run on the 1st Tuesday in November. It is a very big race with international horses running to win. I think maybe a little like the Kentucky Derby?
24 horses run and there is usually an office sweep organised in just about every workplace.

The horse that won is called 'Shocking' and it ran a fantastic race!

Hope this makes it all a little bit clearer.

I was so vague yesterday! I totally forgot about it! When I was buying some Napolean makeup for my SIL, the girl asked me if I was putting a bet on. I asked her "A bet on what?" Then she told me it was the Melbourne Cup. I couldn't believe I had forgotten all about it! The joys of 2 young kids! Totally different priorities! On a side, I think I would have put $1 on Shocking had I known because I like that name and that's how I choose my horses!!!!!
