My partner celebrates his 40th b/dy this NY Eve: I wanted to do a novelty cake that combines both. I don't want it to be anything to do with drinking or sport. He doesn't have any hobbies in particular, so I'm a bit stuck. I'd love to hear some of your ideas for something original - I'm happy to do a stacked/whimsical cake if the theme is right. So please, chuck some ideas around and help me out folks!

Thanks in advance icon_wink.gif

Maybe you could incorporate fireworks into the design. Perhaps wired and attached to the cake. Those were just the first things that came to mind. Have fun!

I love black, white and silver for NYE...it's and easy "theme" for a bday party too.

Geometric shapes in fondant keeps it feeling masculine, and get one of those "sparkler" handheld firework/candle for the topper...light it while you're all singing Happy Birthday!
