I am making a show, and wondered, is it all gumpaste? or fondant/gumpaste? And how do you avoid cracking?? Thanks

You can use a 50 gumpaste and 50 fondant. There shouldn't be cracking you can also add tylose if it cracks.

If your gumpaste feels dry just add a little crisco. that we keep it soft and pliable. HTH

Use all gumpaste. The important thing with working with the gumpaste is to make sure you knead in a little crisco to "activate" it (Nicholas Lodge taught me that) You need to knead it until it is smooth as silk before you start working with it. Once you have it that consistency, your finished product should not crack.
