Refridgeration Question

Is it okay to put a cake covered in fondant in the fridge after it is decorated (the filling needs refridgeration)?

I refrigerate my cakes all the time.

yes. just give it plenty of time to dry off when coming to room temp before touching the fondant. a fan on it will help.
