Im making a 3d ball pan cake and setting it on a one layer 8" square (torted and filled) So Ive never done a ball pan. I ussually cook, freeze for about an hour then do my torting and crumb coat then back in the fridge until the morning at least for decorating.

So my question is, should I crumb coat each half seperate or assemble and crumb coat? or should i not even crumb coat if im decorating with the star tip?

Thanks!
