I make caramel corn often. Normally the last step is to bake the caramel coated popcorn in the oven. Now I am trying to make candy coated (watermelon) popcorn using Lorann's Oil. The recipe says that once I coat the popcorn with the mixture that I just lay it out to dry. Can that be right? It seems like I would need to bake it to get the crunchiness. If you make candy coated popcorn, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I made it last night. It turned out great and I didn't have to bake it like caramel corn to get the crunchy texture. Here's the recipe that I used"
