Does anyone have any examples of a fondant/gumpaste #6 to go on the side of a birthday cake?
The client LOVES that look of a curly frilly #1 that was done on a "pink cake box" birthday cake.
How would you make a 6 look frilly??
Any examples you can show me???????????

Thank you...
Ryley

There's a Halloween Birthday cake in the recent photos with a curlique 6 on a witches hat, or some such.

This is how I made the 16
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1491811.html

I used 50/50 fondant/gumpaste, wire inserted, coffee straw in cake to hold wire, tooth pick to make design, oh I used two wires on the 6 roll part and the long part HTH

Here's a link to my all-time favorite cake - nope, I didn't make it!

It has a nice 6 on it.

Just taper the ends and then you can make a good spiral. Try both ends or just the one that's in the opening. I haven't done any 6's yet, but I've done others.
