I am working with fondant for the first time. I am making a marshmallow fondant. It turned out really well until I tried to add color. Then it dryed out badly and kept tearing. Can I add the color when making the fondant instead of adding it in later???? icon_sad.gif

Yes you can. I 've seen other posts where folks add it into the marshmallow before you add the PS

Yup, idgalpal is right, just add it to the melted marshmallow bit by bit to get the colour you like - the ps you add will ultimately lighten it some, but sitting overnight will let the colour settle and deepen. Don't throw out that batch though - pop it in the micro for 10-20 secs and knead (be CAREFUL of the HOT spots) until it reaches the smooth sticky stage again, then grease your hands and the fondant and continue kneading - this should take care of the dry/tearing issue. Good luck!
