I am making a sugarfree basic yellow cake for tomorrow. Very easy receipe. Hubby didn't get the pineapple juice. I am stranded and don't have any canned pineapple or apple juice. Would lemon juice work? I need this cake for tomorrow. I do realize that lemon juice would change the taste, which I am fine with. Or is there anything else I could use?
Thanks in advance.

I think lemon juice would be too acidic.Do you have any cans of fruit salad or juice like Tropical punch or Five Alive...

No, all I have is cranberry apple juice, orange juice, and apple flavored soda. Canned fruit doesn't last long in this house.

I'd use the orange juice... it's closest to the pineapple juice.

Thanks a bunch. I got my hiking shoes on and treked to the dollar store about 1/2 mile away. It was a long walk back with that heavy can of juice. Then to make it worse. I misread the receipe and put 3 times as much baking soda. Need less to say....yuck...Thank heavens I'm not getting paid for this. You should never bake with a migrain and a seven year old asking a million questions. he he
