Okay, I just got a strange request for a vanilla frosting that has a crunch to it?? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?
I thought maybe adding a raw sugar to a buttercream might be a possibility but I am sure that would dissolve eventually.
Much appreciated if you know of this.

Well, that's what I described to the person asking for it and they said no, it actually is crunchy.

i personally think adding the powdered dream whip adds "crunchiness". i love the taste but i have to beat it forever with lots of liquid to get rid of the crunchy feeling that i don't care for

I don't know about in a proper frosting but we have something in the UK called a lemon drizzle cake which is often topped with a crunchy icing. it is made by dissolving granulated sugar in lemon juice (the recipe I use calls for 175g sugar to the juice of two lemons).

customer so needs to be more specific. I haven't a clue what she's asking for.
