I am going to make a spiderman face for my son's birthday next week but I am wondering if I need to use a certain recipe. It will be a rounded oval sitting on top of a squared cake. The bottom will be Q's Favorite Chocolate cake. I used that recipe for an XBOX cake and it didn't do well with being rounded at the front. Is WASC dense enough? Is this even something I should be worrying about?
TIA,
Mindy

We tried Mike McCarey's from Mike's Amazing Cakes. His is DELICIOUS and carved very nicely.

The extended cake recipe from this site using chocolate cake mix works good too. Carve the cake cold so it holds up better also helps.
