I teach pre-k students on Sunday morning. One of my students had her 5th birthday yesterday and her mom ordered the cake from me. Avery (the little girl) wanted a chocolate cake shaped like a pumpkin . They came by to pick it up on Friday and the parents were thrilled with it. They said "I'm so glad we didn't get it from xxx'. Avery got a big smile on her face when she saw it but she is also pretty shy. Today, I asked her if she had a pumpkin cake yesterday and she got a great big smile on her face and shook her head yes. She was still pretty shy today so that was a big reaction from her. icon_biggrin.gif

It's the pumpkin in my photo's with 'Avery' on it. I was pretty pleased with it too since I had never made anything quite like this before.

Thanks everyone! Nannie, you are right. Making people happy and helping them celebrate special occasions IS what this is all about. It feels good to be a part of it.
