I am not new to baking cookies but I am new to baking sugar cookies. I would like to know a good sugar cookie recipe for 3 inch cookies and I want to put a college lettering on it and sell them at the games. Also should I use gel or royal icing for the lettering and how long do I wait to wrap them so that it does not get messed up? Thank you!

I would suggest the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe in the recipe section. It is a very reliable and tasty recipe. Perfect for cookie bouquet's etc...

There are tons of great recipes in the recipe section. The NFSC recipe seems to be the most popular.
I like to use Antonia's royal icing recipe but there are many who use Toba's glace; each will dry hard enough to package and/or stack (wait longer for glace to dry completely).
There are even other who swear by rolled buttercream and MMF which are the quickest since there is no drying time necessary. It's all a matter of preference and how much time you have. Have fun!!
