Haha, well I'm just purely desperate to find a GREAT buttercream frosting that doesn't require Sweetex (As I cannot find it locally). Please load me with suggestions, just not indydebi because she's on my list to try already. I want something very versatile (I HATE THE WILTON RECIPE!!), can make flowers, pipes well, covers well, and TASTES well. I've had this problem since the day I started cake decorating two years ago. I want to have a recipe I can always use, because from cake to cake I do, I use a different recipe. I've tried to stay consistent with the Wilton Recipe, but I absolutely hate it!! icon_mad.gif Well, i would greatly appreciate suggestions

Try IMBC or SMBC. Just do a search. LOTS of recipes for both.

I can give you what I use. It's one to try anyway:

1 cup shortening
2 sticks Imperial brand margerine
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch salt
2 lbs. powdered sugar
thin with water

mix first 4, then add ps.

I use this for everything.
