I have been asked to make some red velvet cupcakes for a wedding in December. Personally I have never had red velvet cake and don't even know how it is supposed to taste. I have looked at the recipes here on CC and am wondering if they are suitable for cupcakes or does someone out there have a good recipe for cupcakes? Also, may I assume that the red food coloring is a liquid food coloring? What frosting goes well with this flavor? I want to do some test runs so please help.

I use the Wilton no-taste red in my red velvet cake (the only thing I use Wilton colors for!). My recipe is in the recipe section. It works great for cuppies. This is the same recipe I used for my first-ever wedding cake many a moon ago and it got rave reviews.
