Could I use orange juice instead of water in buttercream or would it curdle? It is going to be orange color and I thought it would be fun to have it orange flavor too.
I've used Orange Kool-aid (desolved in water) before.. and it worked fine
But I also used Orange flavoring to give it a real kick !
I don't see why you couldn't use it, and it probably wouldn't have much of a color, but for the small amount of liquid you add to buttercream I'm not sure I'd have much of an orange flavor. I've added orange extract to my bettercream before for the orange flavor.

As others have said, orange oil/flavoring is a good trick too. I have also used orange jello powder or grated orange zest - I think it depends on the type of orange flavor you want and intensity.
