I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of the cost to make your own cupcake stand using the cake drums and styro between the tiers - obviously it will vary depending on materials used but just a general idea if anyone here has made one of their own. I would need one to hold aprox. 24 cupcakes - 3 tiers I guess......

Also has anyone sold/rented these to customers? I have a customer asking for a price for me to provide one of these and I wasn't sure where to start. Does $20 sound like a resonable amount?

thanks for any help you can offer -

Hi Brandie !
I just did a wedding and had to make 2 stands for 100 cupcakes each. I bought the cake boards and dummies. It cost me $120 for everything (boards, dummies, ribbon, paint).

I just loaded the pictures.. the wedding was this past weekend.

Sorry.....missed the second part of your question - as for renting them out... I would charge $20 with a $60 deposit (the cost to replace one). And I would ask that they use elmers glue to tack on any ribbon... NOT glue cement and ruin the boards!
